We had to put Icarus down last Saturday and it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. He had been acting weird and we noticed he wasn't breathing right. We took him in and his lungs were full of fluid and well I could go on but the short of the long is we couldn't help him and even after they removed he fluid from his chest he was only better for a day. The even harder part was he was still mentally fine but the poor guy just couldn't breathe. I thought he was invincible every time over the last eleven years when he knocked on deaths door I braced my self but with a little cash and care he always pulled thru. I thought this time would be the same but unfortunately he and I both ran out of luck.

I miss you buddy! Every morning I wake up i wait for you to come and bug me but then I remember. . . .

Well we tried the medicine and it worked well for awhile. No pee. No yowling. Then the yowling and the pacing started then the peeing. Then we increased the medicine. Still yowling and found a sock drawer full of urine. I opened the door and he ran out and if I can Steele my resolve he will not be coming in again.

He is peeing on everything, he even decorated the Christmas tree with cat urine. I'm at my wits end for real this time anyone have some advice other then offing him. Even though he is an asshole I'm not in complete favor of that kind of solution just yet. I threw him out the front door the other night but he just sat on the front porch and yowled. Bastard. As I type this we are at the vet so he can get his booster shots and hopefully there will be a solution like kitty Valium.

sooo my appointment was about an hour and 20 minutes late.....however the doctor did change my prescription even though he was quite sure that he was right the first time. I feel much better and now i can focus without it hurting my eyes. HOOOORAAAAY

it has been awhile since I have called upon the services of lens
crafters. The last I had heard of them I got a 20 dollar check for
their shady relationship with the drs located inside their doors.

I had the joy of a return visit because i lost my glasses last week
and spent 7 days hoping the would reappear however it started to feel
like I was just keeping my finger in my eye at all times. So I am 3
months away from qualifying for new frames/lenses thru my insurance
and if i order thru my regualr doctor it takes a week or more to get
them back. so anyways long story longer I ended up here.

in three hours start to finish i got new glasses in my hand and
although I had to pay a lot at least I now had them.

Day .5:hmmmmm seems a little blurry but i am tired
day 1: something ain't right
day2: can't stand it my right eye can't focus without a lot of effort
finally I call them an schedule an appt as i arrive the place is full
of people some browsing some complaining and I am sitting here typing
this 20 minutes after my scheduled appt

they asked me if I had my glasses checked?!?WTF does that happen so
often that they are concerned that i don't have the right lenses in? I
am getting more pissed by the second and am also realizing i should
stick to the regular doctor.

for reasons still unknown to us the dog started vomiting yesterday
afternoon. it continued 3 or four times and then was coupled with
breathing issues. So after trying to initially wait it out we took her
in to VES.
They of course coul not find a definitive answer from the blood
panel and therfore recomended we keep her there over
night and let them do more tests to
see if he has an inflammed pancreas or an abdominal obstruction or we
could take her home and take our chances but they didn't reccomend
doing that. I asked to see an estimate as to how much that would run
Nd they brought back a slip of paper ranging from 900 to 1100. We
really really love our dog, but a grand just like that and then whAt
happens if
it is pancreatitis then is it another grand to fix that. Anyways
feelin like assholes we elected take her home and take our chances.
The discharge instructions even said " while we wish you the best of
luck we do not think couscous will do well at home"
well she slept all night with us and this morning Although much sadder
then usual she made it. so keep your fingers crossed that it isn't
anything bad.

we are currently engaged in a literal and figurative pissing match. The grill work did not help he is still peeing on everything. He even peed on the counter top, which is something i wouldn't have even thought as a possibility before now. I really don't know what to do but it is getting out of hand. I think it may have been triggered by a male cat on the "outside" that keeps sitting in the front yard and marking the front door, he may have activated some territorial madness that has spiraled out of control. I keep hoping it is going to stop and then i keep finding things that don't smell good. ugh

Icarus or a MacBook

So I had a sort of impulsive thought the other night involving a Macbook. I have wanted one for years but have been too cheap to pull the trigger since i can get a windows one for so much less. However my current laptop is starting to fail and has to be plugged in all the time and Someone depends on it quite a bit for school, including a class this semester that requires you to submit an essay in the last hour of class. I am worried that without a plug someone might have a computer failure and get an F in the class. So Sunday night I put it in my cart, but then had second thoughts about the 1000 dollars it would cost and removed it.

Thank goodness because then this week we had to take Icarus to the vet. He has been crying a lot, acting weird and worst of all started peeing on all kinds of things. I know from experience that male cats are predisposed to getting urinary tract infections so I was afraid that might be the cause. Well that issue hasn't been answered but in the examination they found he has a broken tooth(WTF, how did he break his tooth?!! Was he in a bar fight I don't know about) and the extraction will be about 500, the other tests etc about the same.....
now if i can only get Icarus to send emails and wear an apple sticker.

yummy!! To put the icing on the cake of the crazy suprise party that
Bo threw with lots of help from the rest of the family my mom made my
favorite dinner!!! For those of you ho army familiar that is salt pork
and crock pot mac n cheese with some beans on the side. I love salt
pork and can usually only guilt trip my mommy into making it on my
birthday!
I'm very lucky!! Thanks to all my friends and family that made this a
birthday i will never forget. I'm going to refrain fromm posting
pictures from the party because the embarassment factor was quite high!!

tried this little pizza place out at first and bullard in te center by
Savemart. It was delicious!!!!! The corn meal crust was really good
and for the quality and quanity of food the price was good also. The
owners were there and were very friendly and very nice. The place was
squeaky clean, I just had a leftover piece and it was still delicious.

The new year so far is going well. So far in the new year I have been
quite unusually active.
Friday- new years day just some shopping and pretending to see Avatar
again ( keep going to theater then bailing) but managed to grab some
lunch at Panera and get some good deals at the bookstore.
Saturday- headed up to Yosemite. The snow quantity was a bit
underwhelming but it was still pretty and the number of people wasn't
too high. It was good to go there, I can't even rememvet the last time
I was there probably almost 10 years ago.
Saturday Night- hit the Rocky Horror live show at Tower Theater.
that was a good time I really enjoyed myself even though rice throwing
was prohibited. The plce was packed to capacity I was really happy to
see te turnout. I hope they bring it back next year.
Sunday- broke out the bikes for a jaunt around Woodward park.
Yup I am out of shape!!!!!!!! Watching my bro-Inlaw dust me then turn
around and relap me while pulling a trailer with a kid and a baby seat
on the back with a second kid is quite humbling. I'm so tired right
now I can barely move, it quite sad!!! I'm very sure that this year I
will think about attempting to exercise more frequently and then not
do anything.

** I just remembered something I was pissed off about on Saturday and meant to post.

I was leaving my nephew's soccer game on Saturday and I was parked by the Bullard Baseball diamond and I noticed the bumper sticker on a truck I am guessing for one of the Bullard baseball players that were playing.

It was the typical classless Calvin(the real Calvin would have never stood for this well at least in my opinion) peeing on something. I did a double take and i noticed it was the Gay Flag. How cute ! Regardless of personal or religious beliefs that people may hold how could this kid's parents think this is appropriate?! No one would tolerate a sticker similar to that that was racially directed, and honestly at least in my opinion this isn't any different.

Epinephrine did finally come home that rainy night, but it was obvious something wasn't right. She was wet and dirty and her stomach looked swollen and she could barely meow. Her mom and dad took her to the VES(we all know what that means..chiching ching ching) but there wasn't anything they could do for her even with a black American Express card. Apparently there is a virus that almost every cat has called the Corona virus, however stress, age or other environmental factors can trigger it to attack the immune system thus becoming FIP.

We are all thankful that she came home so that she could be helped and so that we could know that she isn't suffering but the logic doesn't make it any easier to handle. In kitty years for our family she was just a spry young thing and it was just too soon for her to go.....especially since I finally got her to let me touch her again.....It has been a major bummer.

Rest in Peace kitty, I hope there is a stuffed animal named Goose Goose with you wherever you are.

arched your back and hissed at me. A few weeks ago you came by for the
first time in years and rubbed on my hand and I thought we had turned

We went here for the first time today and I have to say tht it is
good. I had the mexi dog and bo had the caliente dog. I didn't mind
paying the four bucks, it was plenty of food for us, and it tasted
great. My hotdog was delicious with the chorizo and I have a definite
weak spot for fake cheese with the jalapeños adding a little crunch. I
heard some sniffling from the other side of the table so I am guessing
the habenero was at least a little spicey an looked good with the
grilled peppers and onions. We will definitely be back a good local
spot that we can grab food for two for ten bucks.

sweet pita is back in action as of last night. I guess it wasn't the
color she was hating it was that she was suffering from a variety of
health issues that now have been addressed. I liked the service I
recieved at Sebring West, they aren't cheap but sometimes it is worth
it to pay for someone who knows what they are doing. This is the best
she has ever run and now I have an e-brake and a heater so I am in
good shape. Bring on the hills and the cold weather!!
